MLP Challenge Day #14

Favorite Quote?

I went through a long list of notable quotes from the show from every episode to find something that stood out, but alas, there just wasn’t anything that jumped out at me enough to pick for this question. So I broadened my horizons and decided that technically it’s not against the rules to pick a notable quote about the show so without further ado…

“When I took the job, I braced myself for criticism, expecting many people — without even watching the show — to instantly label it girly, stupid, cheap, for babies or an evil corporate commercial. I encourage skeptics like this to watch My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic with an open mind. If I’m doing my job right, I think you’ll be surprised.”

Maybe an obvious choice, but it is very relevant to what I’ll be answering to a few of the future questions. I don’t really know what else to say, the quote really takes the words out of my mouth. Course the show itself isn’t the only reason that the whole charade in general gets bashed for, but I’ll save that for a later question.

While I suppose the above is my favorite quote about the show, I couldn’t just drop it without throwing this other one in conjunction, the only one that rivals the previous quote for my favorite:

“There’s a reason why it’s so popular. Quality shows get viewers and fans. The size of the fanbase is not an attempt at trolling the world or whatever some people seem to think. It is not weirdos trying to be children. It IS normal people enjoying a show that’s genuinely funny and cute. And, contrary to what some insecure men seem think, men are allowed to enjoy cute things. The community of FIM fans is enormous; you can’t stop it. The harder you try, the bigger it gets. Pony on.”
